Number 6 Pant Y Celyn
About the cottage
Number 6 Pant-y-Celyn is one of 8 former limestone quarry workers cottages situated in a secluded terrace in the village of Llangoed very near to Beaumaris on the south eastern side of the island of Anglesey. The cottages were built in the early 1900's on land that was formerly one of the largest farms in the area.
Llangoed's placename means the 'religious enclosure in the wood'. The village is on the banks of a brook called the Afon Lleiniog, which flows from the hamlet of Glanrafon to the sea, beneath the ruins of an 11th-century motte-and-bailey castle, Castell Aberlleiniog.
The 17th-century parish church of St Cawdraf restored in the 19th century, is to the north of the village, near a now converted Victorian school and chapel.
The cottage is in the village of Llangoed two miles and a 5 minute drive from the picturesque town of Beaumaris which has plenty of bars, restaurants and shops.
It's ideally suited for 3 to 4 people. Beautiful walks on your doorstep. Lovely sandy beaches a short drive away. The closest beach to the cottage is Lleiniog, a pebble beach about a 15 minute walk away.
It is less than 10 minutes drive or a lovely scenic 1 hour walk to the beautiful Penmon point lighthouse and monastery.
The village has a single small (Morrisons Daily) grocery store but no local pub or restaurant.
Cottage Facilities:

Inside Number 6
Entering via the back door, there is a small kitchen leading into the living room. The living room stairs lead up to the small bathroom and shower, a double and a single bedroom. A staircase leads from the main bedroom up to a converted attic room with a King size double bed. This attic room has restricted height and only accessible via the main bedroom meaning access to toilet is also via the main bedroom
Outside Number 6
A short path leads to the large garden with plenty of space for sitting and includes a Shepherds hut which is suitable for 'glamping' as it has a single sofa/bed, an adjoining patio and seating with access to WiFi. Please make sure you bring a sleeping bag if you plan to 'glamp'.
